Peak of the New-Economy-Crisis
The planned IPO of GastroFix AG falls through due to economical crisis. The company is sold to the publically traded Italian POS company, TC POS.
The company equips the entire Hannover Messe and Expo 2000 trade shows. More than 200 POS-workstations are utilized in each country's pavilion, run in tandem flawlessly across the entire network and therewith creates the world's largest POS-network to date.
GASTROFIX AG celebrates its 10th anniversary. The company is growing rapidly and is servicing a customer-base of over 10,000 customers. The major investors in the company prepare themselves and advertise an upcoming IPO.
GASTROFIX converts into a publically traded company and merges with several regional subsidiaries that it owns. Venture capital backing allows continued growth and the employee-base expands to over 80 competent individuals. GASTROFIX beings to be sold worldwide.
GASTROFIX is now used by major clients such as Pizza Hut, LSG (Lufthansa), German Railways, Frankfurt Fair and thousands of classic restaurants.
Major contracts and framework agreements are negotiated and commence with Sharp, Omron, Wincor Nixdorf, Bosch and WMF. All parties agree to utilize the GASTROFIX software as the solution for their PC-based hardware.
Breakthrough at the CeBit
GASTROFIX's first tradeshow stand results in dozens of nationwide deals agreeing to sell and distribute software. GastroFix leads the competition by being first to market with a unique graphical table-plan layout integrated into its software.
The Broker's Inn in Berlin wins the prized Herforder title (a Pub-Oscar) for featuring a real-time Beer-Stockmarket concept that utilized hand-held POS-technology provided by GastroFix.
The first 100 GastroFix systems are installed in the Saarland state.
At the Intergastra trade show, the company introduced the first wirelessly operating POS-terminal which functioned as an actual ordering unit within the hospitality industry. The unit worked with infrared data transmission, years before the Orderman competitor even considered bringing mobile devices to the market.
In „Gasthaus Zum Stiefel“ The first ever GastroFix-system was installed in the "Gasthaus Zum Stiefel" in Saarbruecken. This first ever install incorporated 12 PCs and 6 impact printers to form the company's first POS network.
